A note: I'm not sure exactly when this will happen, but it's sometime soon. I suppose it makes sense to match up Romeo's moving to a different place with my own next month.

Sprocket hung back in the living room and Romeo got up to answer the door. The book he was reading was very engaging and the door never seemed to be for him anyway.

“Excuse me, are you Romeo Sorano?” the deep voice at the door inquired. Sprocket’s eyes snapped wide open in instant recognition and he let his book fall into his lap as he listened.

“Yes…” Romeo was hesitant. The stranger was dressed in dark colors and his deep red eyes were slightly intimidating.

“Is there someone else living with you? A boy? He might go by the name of Sean or…” he paused, Romeo looking slightly shocked. “Sprocket!” The man shouted out happily as the boy pushed past Romeo and leapt into the man’s arms, embracing him like a favorite uncle.

“Would uhh… would that be him, then?” Romeo asked, feeling slightly out of place.

“Oh God, Sprocket! It really is you!” The man seemed too occupied to answer Romeo’s question.

“Aniki! Aniki! You came! I knew you’d come!” The boy was practically squealing in delight, tears running down his face.

“I’ve been looking for you for months,” the man confessed. He stood back up and looked at Romeo, “I’m so sorry. I failed to introduce myself. My name is Kaien Sho,” he held out a hand which Romeo shook.

“I guess you’re Sprocket’s… brother…” he knew the term wasn’t quite correct but had no better word to use.

Kaien chuckled, “something like that.” He reached down and took Sprocket’s hand; the boy was looking up at him with such a look of joy on his face. “Have you been taking care of him long?”

“Since uhh… last Spring, I guess,” Romeo tried to remember.

“Oh my. I must thank you. May I come in? I’d like to speak with you and it’s awfully cold out here.”

“Oh, yeah, of course,” Romeo stood aside and gestured Kaien into his small apartment, closing the front door after both he and Sprocket were inside. He offered Kaien a seat on the couch, and Sprocket sat in the space next to him, clinging on his arm like an excited puppy. Romeo chose to sit in the armchair.

“So are you… uhh…” Sprocket had told him many things about his ‘aniki’, about being a dragon and being thousands of years old, but Romeo really didn’t know how to broach the subject. He felt uncomfortable even though this was his own house, not knowing what the man was capable of.

However, Kaien filled the awkward silence with his own agendas, “how can I ever repay you for taking care of Sprocket?” he asked eagerly.

“Aniki!” Sprocket whined a bit, “I could’a taken care of myself!”

“Oh, it was nothing, really. I couldn’t just leave the kid out to die in the cold… it doesn’t really matter who it was… though I knew I couldn’t turn him over to the police because of his… horns… ‘n’ stuff…”

“I’d gladly repay you for everything you’ve done. Please, name your price.”

Romeo was slightly taken aback by this. He hadn’t dreamed of being repaid for what he had felt was the right thing to do, “I’ll… I’ll have to think about it a bit,” he fidgeted a bit with the hem of his sleeve.

“Aniki, aniki! Do I get to go live with you again now?” Sprocket failed to contain his questions even though the “adults” were talking.

“Of course, Sprocket. I intend to keep the promise I made to you,” Kaien smiled kindly.

Sprocket’s grin seemed like it couldn’t get any wider, but suddenly his expression fell, “but… I liked living with Romeo,” he looked at the young man who was rather surprised to hear this.

“I think Mr. Sorano might like his own space back now, though. Don’t you?”

Romeo looked around his apartment, now showing evidence of two people living together… Sprocket’s coats hanging on the rack, his toys littering the floor of what had once been Romeo’s guest room and office, and the extra video game controller lying out on the coffee table from the game they’d played together the night before. “I have to admit,” Romeo stated, “it’s been really nice having someone around…”

Sprocket’s eyes sparkled with an idea, “Aniki, why doesn’t Romeo come live with us?” he tugged on Kaien’s sleeve eagerly.

“Sprocket, calm down. I don’t know…” Kaien held up a hand, “I do have a very large house down in South Carolina that I plan to move myself into now that I’ve found Sprocket. I have a lot of extra rooms, if you did want to move in to one of them, I would be glad to have you for as long as you wanted to stay.”

Romeo looked rather confused, “this is incredibly… odd, you understand, right?”

Kaien smiled and laughed, “I know. But I suppose I am a little odd myself. But I assure you that there’s nothing shady going on, I’m just extending an offer to provide you with food and shelter at no cost to you, as you have done for my young friend.”

“I see…” Romeo wasn’t completely convinced, and sighed, “I do have some friends who recently moved away to South Carolina… I do miss them.”

“That is unfortunate. But this is quite the coincidence. I’m not big on fate, but perhaps this is not an opportunity to ignore?”

“I… I guess I’ll think about it,” it wasn’t every day that Romeo had such an offer dropped in his lap by a strange man.

“Romeo…” Sprocket whined a little, “Please come live with us! I’ll miss you too much if you don’t!”

This made Romeo smile, “I guess… I’ll make some phone calls.”

(This story isn't really all that great because I'm really sick today, but it chronicles an important event, so I wanted to get it over with)

Last Sunday...

A normal outdoor photoshoot:

Jamie: Ok, hold that pose.

Jamie: Now look to your right.

Romeo: Hey, what's that?
Jamie: What's What?

Romeo: Look, right there in that bush.

Jamie: I don't see it.
Romeo: Look closer! There's something in there for sure!

Jamie: Oh, I see it now, what is it?

Romeo: It looks like a small child. I'm going to see if it's ok.

Romeo: Hey, hey kid. Wake up.

???: Aniki? Is that you?
Romeo: No, my name is Romeo. What are you doing here? Are you OK?

???: I've been sleeping... I woke up and came here...
Romeo: Uh, yeah. Let's get you inside, ok?
???: Ok.

Romeo: There you go. What's your name?
???: Soupraukemitdolor.
Romeo: Er...
???: You can call me "Sprocket". That's what Aniki called me.
Romeo: Ah, well, let me see if I can find you some clothes.

Sprocket: Wait! What's that thing?

Romeo: Huh? Oh, that's the TV.

Sprocket: Oh god, it moves! Scary!

Romeo: Actually, that is kinda scary. Err... let me change to something that's not The Shining... Here, cartoons.

Romeo: It's not so scary. It's just entertainment. You haven't seen one before?
Sprocket: Err, no...
Romeo: ...How long were you asleep?
Sprocket: What year is it?
Romeo: ...year? It's 2007.
Sprocket: I slept for 100 years, then.

Romeo: You're... kidding?
Sprocket: Not unless you're kidding about the year.
Romeo: What happened?

Sprocket: I don't know... Hehe! This is funny! It's like a puppet show with no puppeteer!
Romeo: Yeah, that's kinda right. I think you'll like it.
Sprocket: I do!

Romeo: Here, I found some old clothes of my sister's, from when she was your size. They should do until Jamie can make you your own clothes.

Sprocket: Your sister? it's not all pink like the bag?
Romeo: No, I on't think any of it is, actually.
Sprocket: Good, pink is for girls.

*rustle rustle*

Sprocket: It looks like a good fit! And cute, too!

Sprocket: So what else did I miss in the last 100 years? There seem to be more of these teevees in this room.
Romeo: Those are computers... they're even better, you can play games!
Sprocket: I like to play games!

Romeo: Hey, wait, is there something wrong with your ear?

Sprocket: Err... what do you mean?
Romeo: It's all gray... no, silver...

Romeo: You have horns, too! How did I miss that???

Sprocket: Is that a problem??? I keep trying to make them go away, but I can only transform them this small.

Romeo: No, but... what are you?

Sprocket: I'm a half dragon... my mother was a silver dragon. My father was human.
Romeo: Really??

Sprocket: Don't you believe me?
Romeo: Actually, I do. I'm a little surprised, but one of my best friends is an elf, so I'm learning there's a lot I don't know about. (And weren't you worried about pink being girly? Why are you wearing those socks?)

Romeo: So, besides the 100 years you were asleep, how old are you? 12?
Sprocket: No, I was 91. I... I age really strangely because of the dragon half.
Romeo: That must be really rough.

Sprocket: Thank you for understanding! Will you take care of me until my aniki finds me? Pleeease?

Romeo: Err... sure, kid.
Sprocket: Thanks.

Yes, these are a bit odd and awkward to non-doll owners. Jordi does not have a body yet, so in the pics he has one, it's Romeo's, and Romeo is without body. The body is also not the right kind for Jordi, so there is one slight proportion issue, but it's not too extreme. Jordi belongs to angiechan070707

Here I go sounding so stereotypical again... but I can't help it. This is really what's happening to me. But here goes "I can't believe that just happened."

Jordi was over for a photoshoot. That boy is amazing, so full of confidence and poise. He's not even a model, but he should be.

But, we talked before the shoot, casually, just for fun. Then we talked after the shoot, lightly at first. We stayed on the photoshoot stage, a big pink thing full of poofy crepe. Jordi was tired, so he laid down, and I laid down next to him. He's Jordi, so of course he flirted. He's a horrible flirt. I'm not sure why, but I leaned towards him as he flirted, and I flirted back.

He reached his hand up to my face, and at first I looked away, but then we moved closer to where I could feel his breath on my face. He was smiling, that sly smile he always has on his face. I don't know who moved that last inch, closing the gap between us. I thought it was him, but maybe it was me. Maybe it was both of us. Whichever it was, we definitely kissed.

I didn't freak out, I didn't back away. I just stayed there and kissed him for a while, on the photoshoot stage with the spot lights turned off, leaving only the warm lights of the back of the studio to reveal what was going on, only the hum of machinery remained in my ears now that the little elfin boy had gone silent.

Nothing more happened, nothing more needed to happen at that time. Anything more would have probably scared me off.

Somewhere, I heard a sound. I thought someone was coming into the studio, so I got up. There was no one there, but I told Jordi I should probably go. He looked satisfied as we said our goodbyes. Nothing awkward, just like friends parting at the end of a day.

Maybe I need to rethink my definition of "I'm not gay." I'm not... but...

The following are Romeo's words. They're more in-character than anything else I've ever written for him. He really only works for me, and I only photo him for this lj and sales on DoA. But, in character, he's a model and is currently under a short-term contract with fetishy fashion catalogue, and so far has modeled these shorts and the below corset, even though he's straight and not very kinky himself.

Another photoshoot with these damn girly clothes. I don't know why they think I'm good for marketing this stuff. I'm not one of the people they're selling me to. I would never wear these rediculous fetish outfits in real life.

Of course I'm good at my job, and I wear what they give me, and I smile for the camera, act natural, and get paid for it. It's exhausting, but it's not hard to look pretty for a living.

I would really prefer if I could get a contract with someone else. Someone with a less specific target audience. I don't think many straight women will be shopping with this catalogue. They carry some things they might like, but the focus isn't really for them.

But lately, in the last couple of shoots... I've had thoughts that are so odd to me. I'll turn my head or turn up a bit of a smile and think of a certain two people I've recently made friends with and think of how they will look at the pictures, and look at my body under the clothes. And... I like it. And I can't stop thinking about it for the rest of the shoot. And... it's like I suddenly come alive.

I've seen the snaps after the shoots, and even I can see the vast difference between the before and the after. I look like I'm more comfortable in the clothing, like I'm having more fun, or even being more submissive or whatever in the appropriate shoots... playing the part, perhaps.

I don't know what this means... I know I'm not gay. This sounds like such the stereotypical confused teenager speech, but it's not. I know I'm not gay... but I wonder if maybe there's something surfacing with certain people. Then again, maybe I'm just craving attention. My girlfriend's not really a serious relationship, even though I adore her, plus she's on the other side of the country, and really busy lately. So, attention whoring it may be. It just makes me wonder considering whose attention I seem to want.

I'm sorry the below photoshoot is pretty crappy and blurry. I did it quick, and should probably take more before I remove the outfit. The corset is for sale.

Romeo: Oh wow. That's a lot of snow! How much is it?
Me: The first snow was reported at 2 and a half feet. Then it kinda rained, which melted some, and then it snowed again and added another 5 inches or so.
Romeo: So... enough for me to drown in?
Me: You can't drown in that much snow, even you.

Romeo: I love how it clings to everything... Look at that tree!

Romeo: Ok, I'm gonna dive in!
Me: Go for it!

Romeo: I'm going....

Romeo: Oh, hey, what's up?
Me: I want you to show off your "room".

Romeo: Here's my dresser. This is a picture of me and my girlfriend from DoA's Perfect Match, Xia.

Romeo: And I heep a maneki neko and a ninja up here. And a couple of things I haven't put away ^^;;

Romeo: Underneath is my clothes. Jamie made this dresser for me. Isn't it nice?
Me: It's just a couple of cardboard bboxes, cut and folded.

Romeo: Of course, down here, is where I sleep. Again, you can see Jamie's cardboard construction magic where she modified my box to make a comfy bed frame. The best part is that she can still use the box as it was intended, it just has a couple of cuts and folds.

Romeo: Down there is a tiny shelf for my shoes.

Romeo: And over there is a pair of snowshoes, but I haven't tried them yet. The snow melted too soon. Also, my bath towel.

Romeo: Aaaand... my suitcase full of stuff. I have... a lot of stuff now. I'm not even sure wht all is in here anymore, Jamie keeps giving me stuff when I'm not looking.

Romeo: And that's it!
